Back in 2022 we received funding from Blackhill Windfarm Community Fund to repair the roof to the changing rooms. Members had done extensive work at New Hawthorn Park over the last 10 years to produced facilities that are potentially worth around £100,000. All the work done up to then inside portacabins has been mostly carried out by ourselves. We took on portacabins from Duns primary school as an empty shell and have re-modeled these to a
very high standard.
We have created very spacious changing facilities for both home and away teams along with a good sized referees room plus a managers office. However, we had leaks on the changing room roof and were looking to put a brand new timber framed roof over the existing roof and then cover with metal sheets to protect our new refurbished changing rooms. We then put on flashings and guttering to finish the project.
