The funds (along with other funders) went towards the purchase of a Tees and Greens apron grass cutter. The inclusion of this unit allows Duns Golf Club to maintain the Teeing areas and around our greens (aprons) in good playing condition. The blade height is set to cut the grass shorter than fairways and higher than greens. This is a normal cutting regime for the majority of golf courses thus we have embraced a quality practice that enhances the golfing experience at Duns for members and visitors alike. As this is a multi purpose unit the Greens staff are also able to quickly change the cutting cassettes to manage and manicure the Greens to a higher standard. The quality of any Golf Course is readily measured by the quality of its greens, the provision of this unit allows Duns Golf Course to be a course worthy of a visit and hopefully a course to return to.
